Babo or alternative title Miracle of a Giving Fool was one of the movies that really stuck with me. I found this movie after searching other movies of Ha Ji-Won, one of my favorite korean actress. This was the time where I just finished watching a 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant. Had no idea about the film, just went head first and went on a roller coaster feel trip. The movie pretty much starts light hearted, makes you go “Oh its one of those romantic comedies where the guy gets the girl”. WRONG. Babo goes a lot deeper than your cliche romantic comedy. I am not going spoil anything, but let me just say this film really made me appreciate my family (particularly my pain in the ass brothers) even though there are times where I want to strangle them and hide there bodies under cement.
Ha Ji-won ( Secret Garden, Closer to Heaven) and Cha Tae-Hyun ( My Sassy Girl, Windstruck) should be enough to convince you to see this movie. These are two of the actors that really got me into watching Korean Movies. If you are looking for other great movies from Ha Ji-won look into Closer Into Heaven. This movie is pretty much torture, but the good kind of torture. My number one favorite from Ha Ji-won would be Daddy Long Legs, that is definite must watch. This movie is one of those that I would recommend until I die. Other movies of these amazing actress you should look into is Love So Divine, 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant, Sex is Zero and Ditto. If you are into horror films check her out in Phone and Nightmare.
